About UCC Hockey

UCC Hockey Club, one of the oldest hockey clubs in Munster since its founding in 1910, continues to thrive as a vibrant and inclusive community for players of all levels. In the 2025/26 season, the club fielded five competitive women's teams and one men's team, participating in the EYHL Division 2 and Munster Senior Leagues and Cups, as well as the Irish Senior and Junior Cups. Each team trains twice weekly on our water-based pitch at the Mardyke.

Beyond competitive play, UCC Hockey Club offers opportunities for social hockey through weekly midweek sessions and participation in the Mixed Hockey League organised by Student Sport Ireland. The club takes pride in its members who have progressed through the Irish Women's Hockey pathway, including representation at U18 and U21 levels. Recent achievements include the Division 1 women's team winning the Munster League & Cup double, the Division 2 women's team winning the Munster League, Cup and Examiner Cup for the second time in a row, the Division 3 women's team winning the Munster Cup & League and promotion to Division 2 and the men playing competitively in the Munster Division 2 League and Mauritius Plate winners.

Off the field, the club fosters a strong social atmosphere with regular events throughout the year, highlighted by the annual Christmas Party and the Hockey Ball. We plan to introduce another women's team to the ranks and we warmly welcome new male players to join our growing men's section.
