About Us
Looking to get fit, meet new people, or try something new and exciting? UCC Boxing Club is open to boxers of all levels, whether you’ve been boxing for years or just want to try out a new sport.
Our training sessions start with a rigorous cardio workout, followed by boxing drills. Sparring takes place nightly, but don’t worry—you won’t have to spar unless you want to! We provide gloves and headgear; just bring a towel, a water bottle, and a gum shield if you plan on sparring.
Every year, the club competes in the Novice Intervarsity Championships in November and the National Intervarsity Championships in March. Our coaches, Ken Anthony and Eoin Buckley, have a wealth of experience in boxing and have coached many of our members to great success in the Irish Intervarsities.
UCC Boxing Club provides a safe environment for students to learn and train in the sweet science of boxing, whether your goal is to compete for our team or simply to get fit and learn more about the sport. We have a great committee this year, and they can’t wait to see new faces at training and make this our best year yet.
