New Students
There are several ways to contact UCC Student IT Support:
- In term hours for the Student Helpdesk are 08:30-21:00 Monday - Friday and 10:00-16:00 Saturday/Sunday.
- If you can currently access your UCC Student IT Account, you can log your own Self Service Ticket using the UCC Services Portal
- Alternatively, you can reach Student IT Support by email at sit@ucc.ie
- Or by phone at 021 490 2120 and selecting option 2
About Your Account
All registered UCC Students are supplied with a personalised Student IT Account. This Student IT Account grants students access to online UCC Student Services.
New Students
If you are new to UCC, your initial Student IT password will have been emailed to you as part of your registration information from the relevant office. The username is your UCC email address (StudentNumber@umail.ucc.ie)
What do I use the UCC Student IT Account For?
The Student IT Account is required for used for the following services:
Canvas is your online learning platform, available to all UCC Students.
Here, your lecturers can upload reading material, lecture notes, assignments and more.

MyStudentAdmin houses your student record information. Your course registration and module selections are all stored here. Biographical details and contact information are also found here. Certain information such as your home address, term time address and emergency contact can be easily updated using MyStudentAdmin. Later on in the year your exam timetable and exam results will also be found here.

Umail is your UCC Student Email. This email is run through Gmail, thereby giving students access to Google Calendar and other Google Workspace services.

Open Access Labs
Student IT have a number of Open Access computer labs across the campus. See below for a list of all Student IT Open Access lab locations:
- Boole Library
- Boole Basement
- Kane Building
- Connolly Builiding
- Enterprise Centre
- Brookfield Library
- Western Gateway Building

Available Software
72 Chromebook laptops are available for students to borrow within the UCC Boole Library and 24 are available for use within Brookfield Library.
There are also 36 Chromebook laptops available in the Student Hub, on the first floor on the Global lounge.
Students can use the automated locker system and their student cards to borrow a laptop for 4 hours.
For any queries or problems relating to the service students should go to either the Library & IT Desk on the ground floor of the Boole Library or the Brookfield Library Information Desk.

All registered UCC students are allowed to connect their laptops, smartphones and tablets to the eduroam Student Wi-Fi service. To have a device connected to the wireless network please follow the steps below. Eduroam also allows UCC Students access to Wi-Fi at other affiliated institutions all over the world.
