Group social event at the Corner House
To celebrate Ben starting with the group, we had a social event in the Corner House listing to traditional Irish Live Music. During the evening, Alex also joined the music session playing his violin.

Summer Research Project
We are welcoming Ben O Connel, a 3rd year Physics student, who has started his 8 weeks summer research project in our group; his project is funded by a SEFS New Connections Summer Bursary Award. Ben will work on examining and optimising the robustness of quantum control schemes developed using "Shortcuts-to-Adiabaticity" techniques.

Visit by Dr. Thomas Fogarty
Dr. Thomas Fogarty from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) visited our research group on 7 April 2026. During his visit, we had fruitful discussions on quantum control of ultracold atoms, quantum batteries, and related topics.
