Michael O'Sullivan

Biography

I received my BSc. in Computer Science from UCC in 2012, and started my PhD in the same year, under the supervision of Dr. Dan Grigoras and graduated in February 2016. I successfully received an IRCSET EMBARK award, my application for which was sponsored by Professor Cormac Sreenan and Dr. John Herbert, and my research was funded under this scheme. My research was in the area of mobile cloud computing, where I looked at models of integration between mobile applications and cloud resources, to provide an integrated user experience on mobile devices. This research also involved areas such as context awareness and middleware.

I was also a lab demonstrator for BSc. and MSc. modules lectured by Dr. Grigoras.

Outside of university, I am very passionate in my hobby of civil aviation.
