Each year, UCC medical students perform extremely well in the Henry Hutchinson Stewart NUI Scholarship Awards. This year was no exception, with UCC taking 18 First, Second or Third places, including First in Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Pharmacology and Physiology. Last year, UCC students also achieved First places in all of these disciplines.

It is one of two new projects that will benefit from a €300,000 investment to address policy needs in medical education research and foster research capacity in this sector in Ireland.

The "New Horizons" UCC School of Medicine Research Conference will be held on 11th December 2014 in Western Gateway Building and will feature cutting-edge translational medical research from across clinical and research departments at UCC.

The annual School of Medicine Prize-Giving Ceremony took place on Friday 21 November, 2014 in Brookfield Health Sciences Complex.

NebulAid is the winner of the 2014 UCC Biomedical Design Innovation Award and the John Francis Burke Perpetual Trophy. The team, which is an interdisciplinary mix of UCC medical and engineering students, has developed an innovative solution to deliver medication more efficiently to the airways.

A team of final year medical students from University College Cork has won the 2014 Jack Flanagan intervarsity competition in Geriatric Medicine.

An inaugural Atlantic Corridor Medical Student Research Conference took place in Brookfield Health Sciences Complex UCC on Monday 10^th November 2014.
