JustCities Hub

JustCities Hub is using engaged research to directly contribute to urban climate policy by improving collaborative scientific and public service expertise in sustainable transitions centred on principles of justice, resilience, and community vibrancy. Cork and Belfast are taken as our exemplar cities.

The planning and development of our cities, for a future where our greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced dramatically, can offer a diversity of opportunities to deliver good living standards for all. JustCities Hub stresses the significant role of social justice as an organizing principle for the political project of leading society toward this future and explores how the public realm within cities can help create new civic imaginings for this future and the climate action, both adaptation and mitigation, to realise it.
