chAnGE Transnational Project Meeting held
21 Feb 2024Happening On 21/02/2025chAnGE - innovative learning for a more climate-resilient healthcare service for older people
University College Cork recently hosted a Transnational Project Meeting of the ‘Climate change and Healthy AgeinG: co-creating E-learning for resilience and adaptation’ (chAnGE) project, where Prof. Suzanne Timmons of CGR is the lead coordinator. This was hosted by Prof. Timmons and took place, online, from 20-22 January 2025.
This €1.5 million EU-funded Erasmus+ project is an alliance of universities, vocational education and training providers, and health & social care organisations, across Ireland, Portugal, Finland, Austria & Greece. Together we are co-creating a suite of online micro credentials for health and social care workers who deliver care to older people.

CGR: Visiting Researcher Collaboration in 2024
19 Dec 2024A collaborative meeting on ‘Telehealth for palliative care in underserved populations’ took place between international sector partners on 12th September 2024.
Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation and School of Nursing and Midwifery hosted the morning part of the visit, at Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, with an afternoon session being hosted at Marymount University Hospital & Hospice.

20 Sep 2024Professor Suzanne Timmons was invited to speak at a meeting of the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS) at Valencia Conference Centre from 18-20 September 2024.
The Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation team contributed to nine posters at the congress, including three presented by our students and academic team, along with contributing to 6 additional posters.
