This webinar is a critical examination of a historical range of theories and research in the international development. The webinar attendants and participants will have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the fields of development theories and practices. Prof. Pádraig Carmody is Professor in Geography at Trinity College, the University of Dublin where he did his undergraduate and masters work and is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg. Prof. Carmody will talk about his new book on ‘Development Theory & Practice in a Changing World’. Dr. Su-Ming Khoo is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science and Sociology, and leads the Environment, Development and Sustainability (Whitaker Institute) and Socio-Economic Impact (Ryan Institute) Research Clusters at NUI Galway. Dr Khoo will discuss ‘decolonizing development theory, education and practice’.
