The European Commission (2019) now regards China simultaneously as “a cooperation partner with whom the EU has closely aligned objectives, a negotiating partner with whom the EU needs to find a balance of interests, an economic competitor in pursuit of technological leadership, and a systemic rival promoting alternative models of governance.”

The event is going to host international experts from the European Commission, international business and research respectively, who will take the audience on a journey discussing opportunities and challenges relevant for the future business cooperation between the EU and China. The event is part of UCC’s outreach activities and is open to the public.

During the symposium the audience will learn about:

 - EU-China business relations in a global context and opportunities for Ireland and the EU to cooperate with China under the BRI

 - Chinese Law regarding Joint Ventures and Mergers & Acquisitions with foreign entities

- China as a talent acquisition nation and a destination for talent migration
