Women in Ireland can now take part in ENDO1000, a major international study that aims to build a detailed picture of endometriosis over time, with APC Microbiome Ireland at University College Cork playing a leading role in its microbiome research.

The APC Annual Symposium, held on Friday 4 September at Devere Hall, University College Cork, brought together researchers, collaborators and industry partners for a day of science, discussion and celebration.

APC Microbiome Ireland at University College Cork (UCC) is pleased to welcome Professor Michael N. Sack as its newest Group Leader, bringing extensive international experience in cardiovascular medicine, clinical research, metabolism and immunology to the APC community.

Researchers at University College Cork’s APC Microbiome Ireland and INFANT Research Centre, together with Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) and Teagasc, have begun a new research programme exploring how probiotics may influence the developing gut microbiome during the early years of life.

University College Cork (UCC) has announced the spin-out of FemmeBiome, a science-led women’s health company developing microbiome-based products designed specifically for women and informed by clinical research and women’s lived experiences.
