Research Overview
Research at the AFDC is categorised into four thematic areas, each led by a member of staff at the School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences. Research undertaken is multi-disciplinary in nature with collaboration between research groups within the AFDC, BEES and the wider academic community within UCC and other Irish and international institutes. The nature of aquaculture and fisheries research also entails considerable collaboration with industrial bodies, ensuring that national priorities are fundamental to the implementation of the AFDC research direction.
