This project aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the water and waste water industries through the deployment of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures. The main goal of the project is to provide Atlantic Area stakeholders with the tools and instruments needed to overcome the Energy-Water nexus challenges.
UCC have considerable infrastructure budget within this project, which will be utilised to add to existing facilities in the Lir National Ocean Test Facility to allow the integrated testing of micro-hydro turbine technologies.
