UCC Community Week – Cork Food Policy webinar

As part of UCC’s Community Week, the ERI, UCC School of Public Health and Cork Food Policy Council hosted a webinar the 12th of October which explored the topic of Food. From food sustainability and healthy eating in a community setting, this webinar touched on each step of the food system and featured initiatives and research projects which are working to ensure that community involvement is at the heart.

Co-chaired by Dr Colin Sage and Dr Janas Harrington the programme included:

  • Finola McCarty of Cork Food Policy Council, Food Growing Coordinator
  • Jack Crotty co-founder Neighbourfood Cork.
  • Professor Mary McCarthy of the PLATEFORMS project in CUBS/ERI
  • Sarah Carr – Community Health Worker with NiCHE
  • The Ballyhoura Community Food Initiative with Taran Kelly, Ballyhoura Development Officer
  • Dr Maria Kirrane, UCC’s Sustainability Officer
  • Dr Keelin Tobin, Researcher Munster Technical University
  • Dr Richard O’Shea, Lecturer, School of Engineering, ERI, MaREI
