New Environmental Economics expert joins the ERI

We are delighted to welcome our new PI Dr Eoin McLaughlin, a Senior Lecturer in Economics and the Cork University Business School (CUBS). Prior to this appointment Eoin was a Lecturer in Environmental Economics at the University of St. Andrews and was also a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and University of St Andrews. He is currently a research affiliate of the Queen's University Centre for Economic History and a honorary fellow at the University of St Andrews. Eoin’s research interests are in economic and financial history, particularly environmental economics, economic history, and historical demography. He has written extensively on topics related to economic indicators of sustainable development, and has been working on long-run empirical tests of economic theories of sustainable development. Another area that Eoin is working on is the relationship between food security, health and the environment using both anthropometric and palaeoecological indicators.
