60 Years of Dairy Science: A Symposium in Honour of the Late Professor P.F. Fox Friday 16th of May Aula Maxima University College Cork
On 16th May 2025, University College Cork will host a very special one-day Symposium in honour of the late Professor Patrick (PF) Fox, who passed away in July 2024. Professor Fox’s scientific contributions to dairy science and technology, especially in dairy chemistry, and cheese ripening, are known the world over. Today, his former students and collaborators carry on his legacy in their research at prestigious universities and institutes and in the dairy industry around the world.

Together with Taste 4 Success Skillnet, the Food Industry Training Unit and the UCC Sustainability Academy has developed a new programme called Connectsus, focused on reimagining sustainable, healthy and local food communities. This programme is 100% funded and is being delivered in Athenry over the coming months starting on the 15th of April. It is free to attend and will provide opportunities to deliver a food charter for the Athenry and surrounding areas, discuss challenges and opportunities with local businesses and communities groups while leveraging the expertise from various participants, contributors, experts and guest speakers. Diploma in Food Manufacturing Management students complete workshop on Operations & Supply Chain Management
The students from our Diploma in Food Manufacturing Management recently participated in an excellent workshop on the topic of Operations & Supply Chain Management. This interactive three - day workshop was facilitated by a leading industry expert and incorporated a Study Tour to Bandon Co-op. The Study Tour provided the students with an opportunity to discuss topics with staff members across the business and see their learnings in practice, which was a highlight of the workshop for all. This residential part-time diploma is tailored for professionals seeking to enhance their management capability and confidence and is designed to foster educational growth and networking opportunities. Led by academic and industry experts, each module will equip participants with practical insights directly applicable to their workplace. The next workshop will be held in April and will focus on Organisational Development.
