28 Nov 2025 1.10pm FUAIM: Duo Lyrica: music for flute and piano Join Duo Lyrica for a musical journey through great works, both old and new, for flute and piano. This recital will feature several beautiful arrangements of Schubert's Leider by Theobald Bohm, alongside works by John Gibson, Debussy, Chopin and arrangements by Duo Lyrica of Irish melodies. 17 Dec 2025 4pm The World’s First Professor of Celtic? Owen Connellan and Cork One of the pioneering initiatives of the new Queen’s Colleges was the establishment of the world’s first professorships of the Celtic languages. This talk will look at QCC’s professor of Celtic, Owen Connellan (1797-1871), considering both his sometimes stormy relationship with the college administration, and his place in early Irish scholarship.
