23 Oct 2025 7pm Screening of Louis Malle’s Elevator to the Gallows with a live score by FIXITY This event was initiated by Tadhg Dennehy, a current PhD student and lecturer in the Film Department, and an MA graduate from the English Department. 17 Dec 2025 4pm The World’s First Professor of Celtic? Owen Connellan and Cork One of the pioneering initiatives of the new Queen’s Colleges was the establishment of the world’s first professorships of the Celtic languages. This talk will look at QCC’s professor of Celtic, Owen Connellan (1797-1871), considering both his sometimes stormy relationship with the college administration, and his place in early Irish scholarship.
