The Department has extensive clinical and educatory commitments, being responsible for the maintenance of Undergraduate Surgical Education in University College Cork, and has a long and outstanding tradition of Postgraduate Education. The Department of Surgery also has a strong research emphasis including both basic science and clinical research.
