Cost Of Living Measures
UCC is committed to helping students manage everyday expenses through a range of cost-saving initiatives. Across campus, departments have introduced practical supports like breakfast clubs and free tea and coffee stations. These services are designed to create welcoming spaces where students can access essentials without added financial stress, fostering both wellbeing and community.
UCC Students' Union Food Pantry
The SU Food Pantry, piloted for the first time this year, is now operating every Monday in the Maker Space, outside the Hub. The Pantry is stocked with food staples, pantry essentials and some non-essential food items.
Students are required to pre-purchase a ticket for €2.50 to access the pantry. Tickets can be bought online via the SU website.
Breakfast Clubs
The Students Union, with support from Access UCC, host a breakfast club in the Student Common Room (behind the O'Rahilly Building) every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning throughout the academic year. All UCC students are welcome to attend and avail of a free light breakfast, including cereal, tea/coffee, fruit and protein bars.
The Boole Library offers a monthly breakfast club. Details on this can be found on the Boole Library Instagram page.
Free Tea and Coffee
Free tea and coffee are available to all UCC students in the Student's Union Common Room and in the Global Lounge, first floor of the Hub. Just be sure to bring your keep cup!
