Science Week 2025


Science Week, taking place from 9-16 November 2025, is a national celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, with events for people of all ages. UCC will participate in and host a range of events as part of Science Week. Join us as we celebrate the wonder of science in our everyday lives. Check this page regularly for updates.

9 Nov 2025 11am Science at the Marina Market Renowned spectacle theatre company, Macnas, makes its Cork premiere at Marina Market, Cork, for Science Week 2025. On Sunday, 9th November, Macnas will bring its vibrant troupe of drummers, stilt walkers, and puppets to Cork city to tell a powerful story about biodiversity loss and the gradual disappearance of the corncrake across Ireland. 16 Nov 2025 11am Domain of the Dinosaurs Exhibition Over 250 original fossils on display in new UCC exhibition – including bones from the only known dinosaurs from Ireland. Featuring nine life-sized skeleton casts, including the Irish dinosaurs Megalosaurus and Scelidosaurus plus the dinosaur Iguanodon, marine reptiles and pterosaurs, the flying cousins of dinosaurs. 13 Nov 2025 7pm 180 Years of Trees and Innovation at UCC A unique evening of history, science and music to mark 180 years of the UCC Arboretum.This evening event will bring together speakers from the UCC Arboretum who will explore the historic, cultural and scientific importance of the collection and its accreditation as well as a unique musical performance from Mr Murphy Lamb, a Kentucky-born concert producer, luthier and multi-instrumentalist (currently an MA Anthropology student at UCC).
