Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous UCC alumni donor, The Aidan Moran Prize in Data Science
and Analytics is awarded annually to the top- performing, final year, undergraduate student in the BSc
Data Science and Analytics programme at University College Cork.
In 1975, Professor Michael A. (Aidan) Moran was appointed to the Chair of Statistics, a position he held until 1989, when he became Registrar. Adian Moran was instrumental in sending many students of Statistics to the U.S. to do a Ph.D. in Statistics and many returned to develop Statistics in Ireland.
The prize will be awarded to the top-performing, final year, undergraduate student in the BSc Data Science and Analytics programme.
