Professor Chris Williams (1964-2024) was Head of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences at UCC, and a lecturer in the School of History, up until his tragic and unexpected passing in April 2024. He specialised in Welsh and labour history, but he was also very warmly remembered for his very popular UCC seminar course in political cartooning and caricature. Chris was a cherished member of the UCC community whose warmth and dedication touched countless lives both professionally and personally.
This prize is awarded for the best seminar dissertation in British and international history submitted by a Third Arts History Seminar student.
