Vice-Chair: Dr. Ehsan Sooudi
Ehsan received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in physics from University College Cork, and Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland in 2013. Since June 2012, he has been at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Processing Analysis (CAPPA), Cork Institute of Technology, as Photonic Device Researcher. From June 2013, he has been a post-doctoral researcher with Photonic System Group at Tyndall National Institute and research staff at the Department of Physics, UCC. His research interests include dissemination of optical frequency standards, novel semiconductor lasers, and applications of diode lasers in optical communication systems. Ehsan was a semifinalist for the Corning Outstanding Student Paper Award at the Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC) 2012.
Ordinary member: Zeina Sabra
Zeina graduated from the university of Jordan, Amman-Jordan, in 2008 with a BSc (Biology). Following this she worked as a quality control technician in Audit Diagnostics a medical device company based in Cork, Ireland. Zeina is now working in the Irish centre for Fetal and neonatal translational research (Infant) with the IMPROvED research project based in Cork University Maternity Hospital. She is also continuing her studies undertaking a partitime Masters by research in stress and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, UCC.
