UCC 180 Professor Adrian Dixon Prize - Postdoctoral Researcher of the Year

This award recognises exceptional postdoctoral researchers across any discipline, celebrating their research excellence, academic achievements, and contributions to their field and community.

Nominations are accepted from current postdoctoral researchers that are within 5 years (since January 2020) of their PhD defence.

Evaluation Criteria

Research Excellence

  • Quality and originality of research: Demonstration of innovative thinking and significant contributions to the field.
  • Published outputs: Quality and quantity of publications, conference presentations, or other research outputs.

Impact & Dissemination

  • Social or Scientific: Participation in training, workshops or conferences to enhance research & professional.
  • Collaboration and networking: Engagement in collaborative research projects or professional networks.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentorship: Guidance and support provided to junior researchers, students, or peers.
  • Leadership: Initiative in leading research projects, teams, or academic initiatives.

Contributions to the Academic Community

  • Service to the community: Contributions to the academic community (e.g., organizing events, serving on committees, peer review).
  • Interdisciplinary engagement: Evidence of working across disciplines to address complex research questions.
