Living Well with Parkinson’s

What is PD-Life?

'PD-Life' was launched in April 2026 as an interdisciplinary all-island Parkinson's disease research hub, to create a more connected, collaborative and sustainable approach to Parkinson’s research across the island of Ireland.

It is funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) as part of the North-South Research Programme.

PD-Life is co-led by Prof Suzanne Timmons at University College Cork, and Dr Mihalis Doumas, Queen's University Belfast.

They are joined on the PD-Life consortium by colleagues from partnering Higher Education and Research Institutions:

  • University of Limerick
  • Ulster University
  • Trinity College Dublin
  • Tyndall National Institute

Community-based partners on PD-Life include Parkinson's Ireland and Parkinson's UK Northern Ireland.
