Programme Summary
Fossils for our Future was the largest citizen science palaeontology preparation programme in Ireland. Over the course of two cycles, forty-four participants from the Cork community curated, prepared, and photographed fossils from the P-T boundary in the Sydney Basin, Australia. Over 3,000 specimens were prepared over the course of the programme to answer MEG research questions regarding atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, biodiversity, herbivory, and ecosystem recovery in terrestrial systems.
Fossils for our Future is proud to have provided scientific opportunities in Cork and is eternally grateful to our dedicated volunteers.
