What Will I Be Studying?
You will be studying in 3 different ways during the Certificate in Social Citizenship.
1. Core Modules
These modules are taken with other students from the Certificate in Social Citizenship only.
Subjects include:
- Transition Into College
- Information and Communication Technology
- Social and Cultural Studies
- Personal, Social and Civic Engagement
- Identity, Expression and Rights
- Transition Onwards
2. Co-Learning Modules
These modules are taken with students from other courses around the university.
You will choose one of the following study areas:
- Performing Arts
- Health and Wellbeing
- Sustainable Living
- The World Around Us
- Including Children
- People and Diversity

3. Work Placement
At the end of Year 2, you will spend 3 months on a paid placement doing work experience.
Placement sites are chosen in consultation with the student to ensure they are a good match for your particular skills, interests, abilities, and geographical location.
Sites may include retail, services, industry, office or other environments.
