About

Ireland’s Fossil Heritage ran the first National Fossil Photo Contest in May 2023. The theme of the contest was Irish fossils – Hidden Treasures, and it was open to anyone aged 18 years or over living in Ireland.  

Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place with seven Highly Commended places also selected. All winners received a One-4-All voucher and a high-resolution foamcore print of their winning photo. The winning artworks featured in a public exhibition at Cork City Public Library, Mayfield Library and Cork Airport in July 2023, with a launch at Cork City Library in early July 2023.
