WARNING! This is a rocky coastal location with uneven terrain. Take care as rocks can become slippery when wet. Full access to the rocks containing the fossils at this location is only possible at low tide. Access the rocks from Lough Beg beach at 51.82377, -8.304392, walk north along the beach until you see exposed rock, explore these rocks or walk along the coast to another small beach at 51.82591, -8.300198 to see the best fossils.
Fossil Info
White/light grey crinoid fossils in grey/blueish rocks. It is easiest to see these fossils in the less weathered rocks on the small bay. These rocks contain abundant crinoid ossicles and long stem sections.
