Grey limestone with white brachiopod and coral fossils. Solitary and colonial corals can be seen. Some building stones are full of fossils while some only have a few, you can also see distinct horizons of fossil rich and fossil poor limestone in some individual stones. Olivellites trace fossils in the paving stones of steps at the NW corner of the castle on the river side.
