Online and Blended Courses with foodlineUCC

The Food Industry Training Unit provide a range of online and blended training for the food, agrifood and seafood sectors.  Online training is provided through an exciting new initiative between the Food Industry Training Unit and Taste 4 Success Skillnet called foodlineUCC.

  • Blended Courses: These are courses that are mix of online and face-to-face teaching
  • Online Courses: These are courses that are 100% online

Both blended and online courses can fall under the heading of non-accredited or accredited:

  • Non-accredited Courses: Short courses that do not have University credits attached to them. These courses may have digital badges or certificates of attendance upon completion.
  • Accredited Courses: Courses that have University credits attached to them. A single module can have 5 or 10 credits. A certain number of credits are required to complete the different levels on the National Framework of Qualifications. For example, the Certificate in Food Science and Technology consists of 30 credits - six individual 5 credit modules.
