Rachael completed her PhD at Queen’s University Belfast and was awarded the 2018 Bourse doctorale de l’ADEFFI (Association des études françaises et francophones d’Irlande) for the best doctoral project on the island of Ireland. She recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Kyoto, Japan, with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences. Coming from a Modern Languages background, Rachael is passionate about language rights and inclusion in all its forms. Rachael loves exploring new cultures and speaks Spanish, French and signs British Sign Language.
