Ag Caint & Ag Éisteacht | Centre for Digital Education

Ag Caint & Ag Éisteacht is how we speak with and listen to UCC staff and UCC students to find out what they need.

'Ag Caint' is the Irish for 'talking'. For pronunciation see the following links: agcaint

'Ag Éisteacht' is the Irish for 'listening'. For pronunciation see the following links: agéisteacht

1-to-1 Consultations

A consultation is a one-on-one or small group meeting with a member of the Centre for Digital Education to answer questions about how to improve student learning through the use of technology. UCC staff can book consultations through an online form.

DE Software & Support Request

This process is designed to allow a joint Centre for Digital Education/Information Technology Services team evaluate initial requests to:

  • purchase centrally licensed digital education software and/or

  • support new digital education projects.

This process determines whether projects can proceed for a formal Project Management Office (PMO) application, so approval at this stage is not a guarantee that UCC will support the project.

Staff fill in an online form to start this engagement.

Digital Education Blog

The CDE regularly engages with UCC's academic and professional services staff.

Within our blogposts, we seek to share the valuable insights gained from our conversations with colleagues who are working in the interplay between pedagogy and digital technology.

Our blogs are published on the UCC Workvivo site.

Ag Caint Podcast

Our Ag Caint (Irish for 'talking' and pronounced /eg kaint/) podcast started at the very outset of Covid in April 2020, where we wanted to record and disseminate recordings with UCC staff and students, focussing on how we can use technology to effectively engage students. The Ag Caint podcasts are available on Spotify.

OVPLT Talks

OVPLT Talks is a series of short videos on topics of relevance to teaching and learning in UCC started in 2023. In each video, Professor Paul McSweeney discusses a new topic with one of UCC's own experts. The OVPLT Talks series is available to view on Youtube.
