Facilities
The Brookfield Health Sciences Complex at University College Cork is a purpose‑built, 12,300 m² facility that centralises teaching for the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, and Clinical Therapies. Set along the banks of the River Lee, it blends modern architecture with the restored 19thcentury Brookfield House.
The facility offers a wide range of modern, student-centred resources including fully equipped clinical skills labs, and specialized environments that replicate real-life settings—essential for hands-on learning in occupational therapy.
Situated within the complex is The Boston Scientific Health Sciences Library, which provides quiet study areas, group workspaces, and access to extensive digital and physical resources to support academic success.
Brookfield Health Sciences Complex is connected via footbridge to the Western Gateway Complex, offering easy access to additional anatomy, and physiology labs including the FLAME anatomy suite. Here students are supported to acquire an in-depth understanding human anatomy and physiology essential for assessing and treating occupational performance problems in clinical practice.
The complex is also home to The Brookfield Clinic at UCC. Established in 2005 through a partnership with the HSE–Southern Area, this clinic offers therapy services in Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, and Audiology for children and adults, while also providing a crucial training environment for therapy students under professional supervision
