How to Give to UCC

UCC’s impactful research, innovative academic programmes and singular student experience all benefit from philanthropic contributions to Cork University Foundation (CUF), the charitable arm of UCC. Whether you are an alum, student, staff member, parent, business, non-profit or otherwise, there are many ways that you can support the university.

Make a Gift Online

Make a gift with a debit or credit card using your computer or mobile device. You can make one-time, instalment, and recurring donations.

Set up a Direct Debit

Irish bank accounts only: You can make a one-time or recurring gift directly from your bank account to a fund of your choice by filling out a Direct Debit Mandate Form and returning it to the address below:

Give by Cheque

Currency Cheque
Euro (€)

Cheques in Euro (€) must be made payable to Cork University Foundation and sent to the Advancement Office at the address above.

Cork University Foundation is a registered charity (No. 11831).

GBP Sterling (£)

Cheques in GBP Sterling (£) must be made payable to UCC Educational Foundation and sent to the Advancement Office at the address above.

UCC Educational Foundation is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. (Registration no. 1021681).

US Dollar ($)

For US persons to qualify for tax relief, cheques in US Dollars ($) must be made payable to the The Chapel & York US Foundation and sent to the Advancement Office at the address above.

The Chapel & York US Foundation is tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) in the US and provide a tax-effective administrative and consultancy support for making donations in US Dollars to UCC.

Canadian Dollars ($)

Cheques in Canadian Dollars ($) must be made payable to University College Cork and sent to the Advancement Office at the address above.

UCC is a registered University outside Canada for the purposes of subsection 149.1(1) of the Income Tax Act. UCC is a qualified donee and is included on the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) public listing.

Rest of World

Cheques in other currencies must be made payable to Cork University Foundation and sent to the Advancement Office at the address above.

Please note tax relief is not available in jurisdictions other than those named above.

Tax-Efficient Giving

Did You Know? Donors in Ireland can see greater impact from their donations

Cork University Foundation is an approved body under Revenue’s Charitable Donation (CHY) Scheme, which can bring additional impact for philanthropic gifts:

If an individual who pays taxes in the Republic of Ireland contributes €250 or more to Cork University Foundation in a calendar year, the Foundation can apply for a refund of tax paid on that donation, increasing the impact of the donation by up to an additional 45%!

If you make such a donation, you will receive an Enduring Tax Certificate which you should complete if you would like Cork University Foundation to reclaim tax on your donation and increase your impact.

Matching Gifts Many donors are able to take advantage of matching gifts from their employer or their spouse’s employer to double or even triple the impact of their donations to the university. If your company has a matching gift program, please contact foundation@ucc.ie to discuss next steps.
