Tánaiste launches new €11.6 million Cerebral Palsy research programme at UCC
22 Mar 2024ELEVATE, a ground-breaking five-year initiative, has been funded under the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Strategic Partnership Programme (€5 million), with co-funding partner The Cerebral Palsy Foundation (CPF) providing support of over €6 million. The programme will be led by the Irish Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research (INFANT) at UCC, partnering with RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Trinity College Dublin and all the tertiary-level maternity hospitals in Ireland.

Actor Richard Harris' Archives Donated to UCC
22 Oct 2022The Richard Harris Estate has donated the Harris archives to UCC. Richard Harris was one of the most iconic film actors of the late twentieth century. Nominated for two Academy Awards for This Sporting Life (1963) and The Field (1990), his other leading roles included the parts of King Arthur in Camelot (1967) and Marcus Aurelius in Gladiator (2000).

Retired staff member support new bursaries for Access students
09 Nov 2022UCC has launched a substantial new bursary fund to the value of €337,000 aimed at widening participation and furthering access to academia for students from under-represented socio-economic backgrounds. These bursaries are made possible through the generosity of esteemed educator, Dr Mary Barry Wall, a former Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at UCC.
