About Us
Mission
PrimeUCC was established by the Vice President for Research and Innovation and works closely with UCC Research Support Services. Its mission is to support UCC researchers to develop proposals for funding primarily through the European Union’s multibillion euro Horizon 2020 (to be succeeded by Horizon Europe in 2021) and to provide Project Managers to successful projects.
Proposal Development
The proposal development phase is a complex project requiring consortium organisation and logistics, budget creation, technical writing and communications.
Project Management
When a proposal is successful PrimeUCC provides EU Project Managers with extensive experience, who manage the overall project to ensure its successful delivery.
A Success Story
PrimeUCC has worked with Principal Investigators across the range of UCC Colleges and Research Institutes in UCC on Horizon 2020 proposals for funding through Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Innovative Training Networks, Cofund), European Innovation Council Pathfinder Pilot, Research and Innovation Actions, and Innovation Actions. In the 5 years from its establishment PrimeUCC was instrumental in the award of European grants with a total value of €45.5m, of which €11.7m was been awarded to UCC.
