Registration

• Registration dates can be found here
• All Registration requirements must be met - fee payment alone does not constitute registration. 
• Students' attention is drawn to the penalties imposed for non-compliance with registration requirements by the specified date.
• Details of the registration requirements applying to each particular programme will be e-mailed to each student. Communication will be through the UCC student email service (umail).

• Please direct all registration queries to sreo@ucc.ie (on-going students) or the Graduate Studies Office (first year postgraduate students).

• First Year Postgraduate students complete Part 1 of their registration by registering their programme of study and associated modules online
• To complete Part 2 of their registration First Year Postgraduate students must present the following documentation in person at the prescribed location and date (see: https://www.ucc.ie/en/registration/dates-procedures/):
  1. Proof of online registration
  2. Receipt for class fees paid or evidence of award of grant/scholarship, etc. as appropriate
  3. Original transcripts and proof of conferring (in the case of Non-UCC graduates)
  4. Passport or Birth Certificate (in the case of Non-UCC graduates).

Online Registration

• All on-going postgraduate degree/diploma students must register online.
• Instructions for registration will be emailed (umail account) to each student.
• Further information is available from: sreo@ucc.ie (on-going students) or the Graduate Studies Office (first year postgraduate students).

• University College Cork reserves the right to limit the number of students taking any particular subject/module to a level proportionate to the staff/accommodation available
• With the exception of the Diploma in Arts (Applied Irish) and the part-time Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education no student may, without the permission of the Colleges/Faculties concerned and Academic Board, register in any one session for more than one complete programme (i.e. the prescribed modules in a group of subjects leading to a degree, diploma or other University distinction).

• On registration, every student must enter their accurate home, emergency and, if applicable, term address
• Important registration/examinations documentation is communicated throughout the academic year. It is critical that any change of address is recorded at: https://www.ucc.ie/en/registration/changes/address/ 

• Where a programme contains elective modules, it is recommended that students take a maximum of 40 credits in any one semester
• Students are advised to spread their workload evenly throughout the year.

• Every registered student is expected to attend* all teaching element of their programme, including, but not limited to, lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes, placements, etc.
• In the case of absence through illness, a student must, if possible, give notice of each absence in writing to the Lecturer concerned and/or Head of School/Department responsible
• In the case of such absence for more than four lecture days, the student must, on resuming attendance, notify the Lecturer concerned and/or Head of School/Department in writing and, if appropriate, lodge a medical certificate with the Head of School/Department, who will provide a copy for the Student Records and Examinations Office
• A student will not be permitted to enter for an examination if a specified attendance requirement of a module has not been met, or if attendance by the student is not considered satisfactory by the Deputy President and Registrar following a report by the Lecturer and/or Head of School/Department responsible for the module. The decision of the Deputy President and Registrar is subject to appeal to Academic Council.

• Official Transcripts of Academic Records may be obtained by completing the application form and payment available at: https://forms.ucc.ie/transcript-request
• Please note: Every effort will be made to fulfill requests for Academic Transcripts (paper and electronic) within 10-15 working days. At peak times, processing times may increase.
