The BSc (Hons) (Nursing Studies) (for German registered Nurses) is is a one year full-time degree programme delivered through University College Cork, in association with the University Hospital Bonn, Germany. The programme has been specifically designed for German qualified nurses who wish to pursue graduate education in nursing and simultaneously improve their English language skills.
Entrants will be Registered Nurses recognised by the German Health Authority, or be entitled to be so registered by virtue of having successfully completed a traditional 3 year Diploma in nursing programme Gesundheits - und (Kinder) krankenpflege.
Applicants will have achieved an IELTS of 6.5, with no band less than 6.5 to be considered eligible for entry to the programme.
Students will undertake a 17 day pre-sessional Academic English programme, delivered by the Language Centre in UCC. This does not form part of the curriculum for the degree.
In order to be admitted to the Degree Examination in Nursing Studies each student must have attended prescribed modules amounting to 60 credits.

Two Year Rule
Students must pass within two academic years of first registration for
the programme, otherwise they cannot continue in the
programme. After failing a resit examination, students may be allowed
to repeat the year. Any individual year can be repeated only once,
however, a maximum of two failed years may be repeated during a
student's programme of studies.
