Outline
Sustainability is no longer a standalone strategy in business, instead it is becoming intertwined with every part of the business. Procurement teams have significant influence in how a business can implement their sustainability goals by making more sustainable choices.
This course is designed to help procurement teams understand their value chains from a sustainability perspective so that they can start to drive more sustainable procurement choices within their organisation. The course is specifically designed for private industry so that the challenges relate to the day-to-day work of those working in procurement.
Learning outcomes
- Understand how procurement plays a role in transforming the sustainability of a company’s activities.
- Understand the role of your supply base in achieving more sustainable procurement.
- Understand practical ways of implementing sustainability into the procurement process.
- Understand the risks and emission hotspots within your supply chain.
- Analyse case studies of businesses who are active in making their procurement processes for sustainable.
- Design a supplier scorecard for sustainability so that you can rate and rank your supply based on sustainability criteria.

Course is delivered over the course of one day in person. There will be breaks with lunch provided.
