Outline
This course provides a foundational knowledge in
sustainability in business and equips learners with the knowledge and tools
needed to understand and respond to contemporary sustainability
challenges. It will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of why
sustainability is now a critical issue for all businesses through stakeholder
expectations, triple bottom line thinking, and the tensions organisations face
when balancing economic, social and environmental priorities. Participants
will examine key environmental and social issues for business, explore how
to prioritise sustainability impacts, and identify sustainability KPIs.
Participants will be to put in place the building blocks of a science-based
sustainability action plan for your organisation.

Assessment
Presentation assignment.

Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age by the date of
commencement of the programme;
Hold a Leaving Certificate or QQI Level 5 qualification (or equivalent
qualification);
Have a minimum of 1 year’s professional experience in a business
environment or currently work on a project team or hold a project
administrator / junior project manager role.
