Grants available in Year 1 of the Action
CALL FOR CONFERENCE and VIRTUAL MOBILITY GRANTS
MultiLiLiTrans COST Action Literary multilingualism and social transformations in superdiverse societies is happy to announce the opening of the current call for application for conference grants.
ITC (Inclusiveness Target Countries) Conference grants fund an oral presentation of an Action Participant's own work within the scope of the Action in a high-level conference fully organised by a third party, i.e. not organised nor co-organised by the COST Action. The Action Participant must be affiliated to a legal entity located in an Inclusiveness Target Country. A list of ITCs can be found here.
DC (Dissemination Conference) grants fund an oral presentation by an Action Participant of the work of the Action in a high-level conference fully organised by a third party, i.e., not organised nor co-organised by the COST Action. All Action Participants can apply.
YRI (Young Researcher and Innovator) grants funds a presentation (poster/oral presentation) of their own work within the scope of the Action by a Young Researcher and Innovator (YRI) in a high-level conference fully organised by a third party, i.e. not organised nor co-organised by the COST Action. YRIs are required to be <40 years old at the time of application.
Virtual Mobility grants support the collaboration in an online setting among researchers or innovators within the COST Action, to exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, etc.
- Scope:
We are offering financial support through these grants for Action participants to present findings from the Action at international conferences. We are focusing our support on presentations of results and processes directly related to the Action Deliverables at international conferences on literary studies and education. To be awarded a grant, presentations or workshops need to be submitted to high-profile conferences with peer review.

- Period:
The conferences eligible for the Dissemination and Conference Grants have to take place before September 30th, 2026.
- Financial Support:
Maximum 1200€ for face to face events.
Maximum 300€ for online events.
- Selection criteria:
All applications will be assessed by the panel and scored on the following criteria:
- Quality of the conference
- Impact on the career of the applicant
- Applicant’s CV
- Relevance of the conference presentation for the COST Action and its connection to the Action Deliverables.
Applying for Grants
Applications for Dissemination Conference grants should be aligned with the Action Science Communication Plan and discussed in the first instance with the Science Communication Coordinator.
Applications for support in any of the other calls listed above should be aligned with the goals of a Working Group (WG), and should be discussed in the first instance with the relevant WG leader.

- Application deadline:
The first round of applications closes on the 28th March 2026.
Any application which comes in after this deadline will be assessed in round 2.
- How to apply
- Fill in the appropriate application form (template available on e-COST) /specifying the amount needed alongside a specific list of estimated expenses.

▪ Copy of the abstract of the accepted oral or poster presentation
▪ Acceptance letter from the conference organisers
▪ Budget plan to include information on the conference fee, realistic estimates of transportations, accommodation and food (note that the daily allowance does NOT apply).

Please familiarise yourself with the eligible expenses for reimbursement.
- Obligations:
Grant Awardees are expected to commit to writing a post and send pictures of the presentation during the event for the website and social media.
Report to the Action Chair, Vice-Chair, Grant Awarding Coordinator and Grant Holder Manager on the contacts made and potential for future collaborations (i.e. academic contacts, literary and cultural practitioners, stakeholders).

Upon the conclusion of the conference, all documents must be uploaded and submitted via e-COST within 30 days after the end of the activity. For any activities taking place after 15th September 2026, grantees have to submit their documentation by 15th October 2026.

Grant Awardees must make their own arrangements for all provisions related to personal security, health, taxation, social security, pension matters and Visa applications.
