Dr Vimalan Adaikalanathan
Dr. Vimalan Adaikalanathan is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) researcher with expertise in multiphase flow modeling and high-performance computing (HPC). He earned his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington (2016, 2024), where he worked on modelling complex flow phenomena, including wave-structure interactions, droplet impact, jet in crossflow, boiling, and turbulent flows. He also volunteers as a Data Scientist at Earth.org, applying data-driven analysis to study extreme climate events and support projects in environmental sustainability and clean energy.
Dr. Vimalan Adaikalanathan currently works on the DETECT project within the Department of Geography at UCC with co-PIs in UCD.
