The Primary Care Speech and Language Therapy service delivers a service in Brookfield for children and their families living in the Wilton and Bishopstown areas.
To become a qualified SLT, the students must learn a great deal of specialised knowledge during an intense four-year degree programme. The students must also learn therapeutic skills, so that they can help their clients effectively.
To become a qualified SLT at UCC, students must undertake a four-year undergraduate degree. At our Brookfield clinic, student placements are organised during the two semesters, where therapy is provided to HSE clients by Speech and Language Therapists-in-training under the supervision from HSE Speech and Language Therapists and staff from the Department of Speech and Hearing.
