The “morality” police of the regime in Iran routinely subjects women and girls to arbitrary detention, torture and other ill-treatment for not complying with Iran’s oppressive compulsory hijab law. This seminar will focus on the recent unrest and protests in Iran in light of women’s rights and life in Iran, and to demonstrate that it is time for the state members of the UN Human Rights Council to help tackle impunity of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a fellow state member for their grave crimes against humanity.
