This hands-on course will teach the fundamentals of skin surgery. It will allow you to practice excision planning and wound closure for optimal healing. All excision, knot tying and suturing practice will take place in our surgical labs on both synthetic and animal models. Though case studies and visuals, there will be an emphasis on learning to distinguish benign from malignant non-pigmented and pigmented lesions and appropriate pathways for care and national guidelines to inform practice. It will also address the lesions that will need more complex reconstruction methods and referral for closure such as skin grafting and local flaps.
Learning outcomes:
After doing this course you will:
- Increase your proficiency in knot tying and suturing techniques.
