Whether you are a doctor or nurse managing patients in their own home, you can face a myriad of challenges that can impact on the healthcare provider and the patient themselves. This perspective course allows attendees to be introduced to a variety of scenarios that may challenge them on real home visits and are perfect for discussion and practice in a simulated environment. The course will focus on managing challenging scenarios in the community such as communication with difficult patients, handling aggressive behavioUr, and navigating ethical dilemmas related to patient care and resource allocation. It would also address methods of promoting health, preventing illness, and providing support for individuals and families. The multidisciplinary opportunity in this course allows discussion on self-care as a provider, patient triage and team support.
