Through hands-on simulated stations and team-based scenarios, participants will develop key technical skills and enhance their approach to shared airway challenges and emergencies. Endotracheal intubation and ventilation will be practiced in common and obstructive pediatric scenarios. Decision making and practice of front-of neck airway access will be acquired.
Airway management is an essential skill to have both acquired and practiced in the care of pediatric patients. In this hands-on course you will use both synthetic and biological models to learn and practice safe endotracheal intubation and ventilation of the pediatric patient. Experts will discuss the management of challenging emergencies such as congenital anomalies and acute obstruction. You will practice front of neck access in pediatric sized models. Throughout the course there will be an emphasis on non-tecncial skills and the importance of communication and teamwork strategies for safe management.
Learning outcomes:
After doing this course you will:
- Increase your proficiency and speed in securing a pediatric airway.
- Gain more confidence in timely decision making in challenging airway scenarios.
- Improve your skills in non-invasive and invasive airway management.
