Professor Robert Scragg visits the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research

25 Apr 2016

Professor Robert Scragg, University of Auckland, is pictured here with Professor Kevin Cashman (on the right), co-Director of the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research.

Professor Scragg gave an interesting talk to reserachers at the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research on The Vitamin D Assessment (ViDA) Study. This mega randomised controlled trial (>5,000 participants) aims to find out if monthly doses of vitamin D3 (100,000 IU) prevent cardiovascular disease, respiratory infections, falls and fractures. The first results of the ViDA study will be published later this year.
