Mini-Conference in Copenhagen Feb 2012 - first announcement

WG3 (organismal UV-B responses) is pleased to announce the first details of the mini conference they are organising.

The meeting “UV-B induced ROS and Antioxidants” will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 2-3 February 2012.

Scientific topics covered by the meeting:

1) Interconnections between UV tolerance, antioxidant responses and detectable levels of ROS and other radicals.

2) Effects of ambient UV exposure on tolerance to other environmental stressors (abiotic and biotic factors), role of molecular signalling and antioxidants.

3) Responses of transgenic plants with altered ROS-scavenging capacities to ambient or near ambient UV doses.

4) Applications of various ROS-detecting methods in studies of environmental UV responses. Technical advances, newly developed UV-B exposure routines.

5) Dissemination. Relevance of new results and emerging new concepts to stake holders, instrument developers and end users.
